gathering for parents
of children with anxiety and ocD
Our circle gatherings are created to offer support and comfort to parents of children experiencing anxiety and/or OCD. This space is intended to cultivate authentic connection, offer compassion, understanding and mindfulness tools as a way of support. All groups will be guided by Christina Brown, holistic coach and parent of a teen struggling with anxiety and OCD.
These gathering are close to my heart and are inspired by the journey my husband and I have shared as we have cared for our son during his struggle with anxiety and OCD. During our journey and through different phases of treatment we have been blessed to connect at the ‘heart level’ with a tribe of amazing people. The comfort we experienced in this ‘knowing community’ created a passion within me to create a space in my Greensboro community that would be an outlet of comfort and support to parents.
All our circle gatherings are grounded in a spirit of mindfulness, authenticity, self-compassion and loving kindness. An awareness of sharing vulnerable space with another and honoring each families unique, private and tender journey will be present.
Christina has participated in an intensive study in Mindful Self-compassion practices at Esalen in California and is beginning her study in Mindful Based Stressed Reduction at Duke Integrative Medicine. During each gathering she will hold space for the group to share and engage in discussions. She will also share mindfulness tools she has used and found are a comfort and support during times of stress.
There is room for 11 people to join us each month and there is no charge to attend.
Registration is required because there is limited space for attendance.
****Please note medical advice will not be offered during this gathering. This space is solely created with the intention of offering compassion, support and mindfulness practices as a way to offer love and care for you and your families****
